Over 100 kilograms of narcotics were seized in multiple drug operations carried out in Greater Male, Police Commissioner Mohamed Hameed said.
According to the police commissioner, 91 drug packages suspected of containing heroin were confiscated in several narcotics operations during the previous 48 hours.
He added that the total number of narcotic packets recovered in the previous 48 hours was 119, including 28 packets seized on Sunday night, totaling 119 kilos.
Commissioner Hameed praised the officers involved in the drug operations, calling it “really good policing work.”
Several anti-drug operations have been conducted in recent days, including one on December 9 that resulted in the arrest of five people for alcohol possession in Male’ and six people for drug smuggling in Maafushi, Kaafu Atoll, as well as the confiscation of a significant number of drugs in a taxi in Male’ City during a drug operation on Sunday.
