The Health Protection Agency (HPA) announced on Tuesday that more than 300,000 people have had two doses of the COVID-19 vaccination.
According to the HPA’s COVID-19 immunization data, 376,630 people have received the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine, with a total of 300,064 people receiving both doses.
As the government’s aim of vaccinating 90% of the population by the end of August approaches, Mabrook Azeez, the President’s Office spokesperson, earlier announced that 84 percent of the eligible population over the age of 18 years had been vaccinated against the virus.
Furthermore, the education ministry reported on Sunday that the first dose of the Pfizer vaccine has been given to more than half of the country’s eligible schoolchildren aged 12 to 17.
Maldives began a large-scale COVID-19 immunization effort on August 2nd, with the goal of fully vaccinating 90 percent of all eligible residents by the end of the month.
