Chartered flights now flying to the Maldives have brought in more than 35,000 tourists, according to the tourism ministry.
The tourism ministry data showed that 9 chartered flights had operated to the Maldives as of the end of June, totaling 380 flight movements and transporting 35,285 people.
Air Astana, which operates out of Eastern Europe, had the most chartered flights to the Maldives during this period, with 148 flight movements and 12,032 passengers. Azur Air, which flies out of Russia, had the second most chartered flights, with 46 flight movements.
According to the data, Emirates had the most flights to the Maldives through the end of last month, with 1,260 flight movements and 104,612 passengers. Qatar Airways came in second place, with 974 flights transporting 80,250 passengers. Furthermore, Aeroflot had the third most flights to the Maldives, with 450 flight movements carrying 75,080 people.
Moreover, 18 airlines now fly to the Maldives, with 7,802 flight movements recorded this year until end of June.
