Parents of the five-year-old Sadha Saudhulla, who died in 2021 due to alleged negligence of Fuvahmulah City Hospital, have requested Maldives Police Service to conduct a criminal investigation of negligence and forward charges against those found guilty.
Sadha’s father Saudhulla accused that some individuals involved in the case have been sent back to their respective countries. Moreover, Health Ministry had already investigated the case, and forwarded it to the Ministry’s Quality Assurance Unit, Nursing Council and Medical Council in order to take action but no proper action has been taken so far.
“I suspect that four people I know are involved in this case. I am aware of who administered the injection to my daughter,” Saudhulla explained.
Saudhulla said once the Maldives Police Service investigate the case, and requests charges from the Prosecutor General’s Office (PGO), he would file a civil suit against the Health Ministry for compensation.
Sadha was taken to Fuvahmulah Hospital on October 3rd last year with stomach pain and vomiting after she failed to receive medical attention from the flu clinic. She passed away shortly after being administered an injection at the hospital.
