Male’ City Council has allotted the residents of Villimale a dedicated parking area for four-wheel vehicles on the west side of Male.
The Council indicated that the parking area opposite the Tsunami Monument Park is suitable for up to 20 four-wheel vehicles.
According to the Council, 15 Villimale residents who own a four-wheel vehicle will receive parking spots, with the remaining five places going to Villimale residents who drive a four-wheeler vehicle such as cars, trucks, and vans weighing less than 350 kilos.
Furthermore, Male’ City Council has stated that registration for parking spaces for Villimale residents is now open, and that it can be done by submitting a letter to Council together with copies of the applicant’s ID card, vehicle registry, roadworthiness, and annual cost.
The City Council provides parking places to vehicles and pick-ups with taxi boards at a monthly charge of MVR 750. The remaining vehicle categories are assigned parking spaces at a monthly charge of MVR 1,500, which has been reduced to MVR 1,000 due to the ongoing pandemic.
