The Parliament has concluded its first session of the year and has gone into recess after completing most of its work.
During the last sitting of the session, the Parliament placed four committee reports on the agenda and voted on two of them. They also voted to accept the Bill on Amendment to the Sports Act for consideration and rejected a resolution on the vice president taking the president’s oath.
However, the Parliament went into recess while the amendment bill to address public concerns about the plastic bag fee was still in the debate stage. The second session is scheduled to begin on May 16.
