Public Prosecutor Ahmed Shafeeu, a media official in the Prosecutor General’s Office, revealed that the Prosecutor General has decided to challenge the Criminal Court’s decision to release 5 suspects detained in an anti-terrorism operation in Addu City.
The Criminal Court issued a decision yesterday to release 5 of the 8 suspects arrested on suspicion of terrorism. However, the court has not yet published the reasons behind the ruling.
According to Public Prosecutor Ahmed Shafeeu, who spoke to a local media outlet, the Criminal Court’s decision would be appealed to the High Court.
