Maldives Police Service has arrested three foreigners and seized alcohol and a large sum of cash during a raid in Male’ city.
Maldives Police Service, on Tuesday, stated that they had searched three houses in Male’ City alongside a motorbike as part of a special operation on April 30 – following which they had seized a large quantity of alcohol and money which includes 70 alcohol bottles, over MVR 245,000, USD 14,500 and EUR 50 from the aforementioned places searched.
Police also confirmed the arrest of three individuals in connection to the case. They include a 27-year-old Sri Lankan man, a 31-year-old Sri Lankan man and a 29-year-old Bangladeshi man.
Criminal Court has remanded the three individuals in police custody for 15 days.
