An expatriate named MD Alamgir involved in several high-profile sex scandals have been arrested by the Maldives Police Service on Tuesday.
MD Alamgir was arrested at a guesthouse in Maafannu, Male’ City under direct court order this Monday. Moreover, his passport has also been withheld as the investigation against him continues for allegedly recording sexual misconduct with several high-profile men and blackmailing.
Videos and photos of at least three high-profile individuals engaging in sexual relations were leaked on social media in the past weeks including an alleged video of Nazim Abdul Sattar, the brother of Speaker and former President Mohamed Nasheed.
