The Maldives Police Service searched the car used to transfer the body of a 13-year-old boy who was found dead in the lagoon of Hulhumale Phase II on June 22, a police media official confirmed.
Police stated that the vehicle was a taxi, but declined to provide any other information, such as whether any evidence was retrieved from the vehicle or whether the driver is implicated, citing the risk of jeopardizing the ongoing investigation.
The authorities reported the murder of a 13-year-old boy in the early hours of Tuesday morning. The boy’s body was located in the lagoon of Hulhumale’ Phase II area.
Police also confirmed the boy was reported missing by his family on Sunday and they were investigating it as a possible kidnapping. Furthermore, two arrests have been made in connection with the investigation thus far, a 17-year-old and a 27-year-old male.
