The Maldives Police Service has revealed that it is currently investigating a comment made by an anonymous account to bomb the parliament on social media.
Maldives police Service has stated that any action or comments that incite or encourage terrorism will not be tolerated. Moreover, it will consider such acts as – a serious offence.
The alleged comment was made by a Facebook user on a live stream of the parliament session yesterday. The parliament’s Vice Speaker Eva Abdullah has said that the comment has been forwarded to Maldives Police Service to investigate and take further actions. Further, the security around parliament has been tightened after an intel on possible attack.
Following the May 6th Terror Attack against the Speaker of the Parliament Mohamed Nasheed, Maldives Police Service has vowed to investigate comments or posts of social media which may encourage or incite violence and terrorism.
