Maldives Police Service has warned to be cautious regarding the counterfeit US dollar notes being sold in the black market.
Police stated they have received cases of counterfeit US dollar notes being sold on online community groups and other social media platforms run as money exchange groups. The counterfeit dollar notes are given in return for Maldivian currency in such cases.
Police also advised not to conduct transactions with only regulated and approved foreign exchange service centers.
