Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has stated that the second consignment of precast concrete blocks arrived at the S. Hithadhoo Old Harbor project site on August 29.
The physical work on the harbor improvement project, according to MTCC, began on April 2.
The overall project works include dredging and excavation operations totaling 234,297 cubic meters, the construction of an 800-meter breakwater, a 284-meter quay wall, 1,420 square meters of paved land, and the installation of harbor lights and navigational aids.
The S. Hithadhoo Old Harbor development project is estimated to cost MVR 52.4 million.
