President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and First Lady Fazna Ahmed have made an appearance at the Internationale Tourismus-Börse (ITB) Berlin 2023 in Messe Berlin, Germany. This marks the first time in three years that the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) is attending the fair in person, and the first time for the Maldives since winning the title of World’s Leading Destination at the World Travel Awards for three consecutive years.
During their visit, President Solih and First Lady Fazna took a tour of the Maldivian stand at the fair, which showcased the unique hospitality and wide range of services and experiences offered by the Maldives. MMPRC also presented the President with a miniature model of the stand during his visit.
ITB Berlin serves as a B2B platform for tourism industry partners and businesses. This year, the Maldives is represented by 233 delegates from 91 companies, accompanied by officials from the Ministry of Tourism and MMPRC.
Prior to his arrival in Germany, President Solih attended the 5th United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDC5) in Doha, Qatar. While in Germany, he is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, with a high-level delegation from the government accompanying him on his visit.
