President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has departed on a state visit to State of Qatar and People’s Republic of Bangladesh.
According to the President’s Office, the visit to Qatar will allow to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries following the resumption of diplomatic ties.
After the visit to Qatar, President Solih and the Maldivian delegation are scheduled to visit Bangladesh on March 17th to attend the official ceremony of the ‘Birth Centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Majibur Rahman’. Furthermore, he is scheduled for a one-to-one call with Prime Minister of Bangladesh and to hold discussions with Bangladeshi government officials to strengthen bilateral bonds. The President will also meet with Maldivians living in Bangladesh.
After both visits, the President and his delegation is scheduled to return to the Maldives on March 20th.
