President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Sunday, officially inaugurated the Maradhoo Harbour and Maradhoo Feydhoo harbour in Addu City at separate functions held on each island.
The Maradhoo Harbour project was carried out by Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC). The project oversaw harbour dredging, construction of a sand fill breakwater, 340-metre revetment and 276-metre quay wall. It also included the construction of pavements and light installation along the harbour area.
Maradhoo Feydhoo Harbour project was carried out by Heavy Force Private Limited. The project scope included the maintenance dredging of the harbour and harbour channel, construction of a 243-metre breakwater and a 260-metre quay wall. It also included the construction of pavements and light installation along the harbour area.
The President and First Lady are currently in Addu City as part of a four-day trip to the Maldives’ southern cities. A high-level delegation accompanied them on this trip.
