President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih met with Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa on Tuesday as part of his ongoing visit to Sri Lanka.
According to the President’s Office, the two leaders engaged in substantial conversation on a wide range of mutually beneficial topics during the meeting.
Furthermore, they underlined their shared resolve to expand collaboration between the Maldives and Sri Lanka in the future years.
Later, President Solih attended a formal luncheon sponsored by Sri Lankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa in his honour.
President Solih is in Sri Lanka for a two-day official visit to officiate the opening ceremony of the 2021 Four Nations Cup, officially known as the Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa Trophy football event.
The Four Nations Cup is the first FIFA competition to be hosted in Sri Lanka. The final match is planned on November 19, and FIFA President Gianni Infantino will be in attendance.
