President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has ratified the Civil Procedure Code (Law No. 32/2021) on Thursday.
The bill was passed by the People’s Majlis with the votes of 53 members on November 29.
The Civil Procedure Code stipulates rules related to pre-trial procedures, trial procedures, general rules of evidence applicable to civil cases, judgments, orders, and enforcement of civil litigation judgments.
The Code aims to increase the efficiency of the civil proceedings process and ensure that proceedings are decided in a fair and transparent manner.
After ratification, the Code of Civil Procedure was promulgated. But it will come into effect after six months.
