President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has left on an official trip to Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), to attend Expo 2020.
He is accompanied on this tour by a group of cabinet members and high-level executives from the government and the President’s Office.
During this tour, President Solih is set to give remarks at the expo’s ‘Official Ceremony for Maldives National Day.’ President Solih and First Lady Fazna Ahmed will also be honoured with a special luncheon hosted by the UAE government.
According to the President’s Office, President Solih will be the keynote speaker at the Maldives Investment Forum on October 26, 2021, and will thereafter engage in a Q&A Panel discussion.
Following the conclusion of his official visit to Dubai, President Solih will travel from Dubai to Glasgow, Scotland, to attend the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26), which will take place in November 2021. President Solih will be accompanied to Glasgow by People’s Majlis Speaker Mohamed Nasheed.
