Horizon Fisheries Private Limited has announced the increase in prices of its Maandhoo canned tuna products.
As per a press release issued by Horizon Fisheries, the prices of its canned tuna products had to be increased due to the hike in prices of oil. Horizon announced the price of a 100g can of chunks in oil has been increased from MVR 10 to MVR 12. Meanwhile, the wholesale price of the product has been increased from MVR 320 to MVR 400 per case.
Furthermore, the price of a 100g can of chunks in brine has been increased from MVR 9 to MVR 11. The wholesale price of the product has been increased from MVR 300 to MVR 380 per case.
The increased prices of items are being driven by the hike in global fuel prices due to the Russia-Ukraine conflict. As such, the prices of petrol and diesel have increased significantly, impacting transport and supply operations around the world.
