The Health Protection Agency (HPA) has announced the closure of private offices in the wake of a recent increase in daily COVID-19 cases in the Greater Male’ region.
According to an order signed by the Director-General of Public Health, all private offices and businesses in the Greater Male’ Region should be closed beginning Friday and continuing until further notice.
Furthermore, it clarified that, except in emergencies, all work should be performed from home, and the statement also recommended that services should be continued online.
To curb the spread of COVID-19, government offices ordered their employees to work from home and provide services online on Wednesday.
Maldives recorded 703 COVID-19 cases yesterday with 526 cases from Greater Male’ Area. Currently, the country has more than 7,607 active cases with 203 hospitalized.
