Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has been awarded the project to connect Komandoo and the adjacent island, Mathi Komandoo, in Shaviyani Atoll.
The contract was signed today at the Ministry of National Planning, Housing, and Infrastructure by MTCC CEO Adam Azim and MNPHI Director General Anwar Ali.
The project will include shore protection rectification of 1,690 meters in Komandoo, as well as reclamation works totaling 16.7 hectares, the construction of 1,520 meters of revetment, and the construction of 112 meters of geobag revetment in Mathi Komandoo.
In addition, a 200-meter causeway connecting Komandoo and the reclaimed part of Mathi Komandoo will be built as part of the project, as well as an environmental impact assessment.
MTCC was awarded the project for MVR 249.9 million with a 730-day completion date.
