Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has introduced a new ‘QR Ticketing’ system for its bus services under Rajje Transport Link (RTL).
MTCC in a press release announced the QR ticketing will be introduced from September 2nd onwards to its RTL bus service operations in Greater Male’ region, Addu City, Fuvahmulah City, L. Gan – Fonadhoo, and L. Isdhoo – Kalaidhoo.
The introduction of QR ticketing will make purchasing tickets for RTL bus services more convenient for the customers. Customers can now purchase QR tickets via RTL website or app at any time, according to MTCC.
The QR tickets will be valid for up to 7 days from the date of purchase. Customers will have to scan the QR code after getting on the bus via their mobile devices. Moreover, toddlers under the age of 3 and elderly people above the age of 65 or special needs people will be able to travel for free on RTL buses. Furthermore, customers can still use bus travel cards for RTL bus services.
Customers can visit www.rtl.mv or download its RTL Travel App for iOS or Android applications to purchase QR tickets.
