The Prosecutor General’s Office has filed multiple drug-related charges against local rap artist Ismail Ifham Mohamed (Pest) who would face life imprisonment if found guilty.
Pest, along with four others, was arrested in a joint operation by Police Intelligence and Drug Enforcement Department on February 13.
List of suspects charged in the case:

- Mohamed Suaidh, 23, Abadhah Ufaa, Thundi, L. Gan
- Aishath Hasna Nahid, M. Asareehadhaan, K. Male’
- Ahmed Husam (Jahulu), 26, Roashan Hiyaa, Thundi, L. Gan
- Ahmed Shammoon, 30, Handhuvaree Hiyaa, Thundi, L. Gan
The five suspects were arrested in connection to smuggling, using, storing, and selling illegal drugs in Maldives.
The PG office pressed charges against the five suspects with Criminal Court on April 22nd.
Pest and Mohamed Suaidh face charges relating to trafficking and using cannabis, trafficking diamorphine (heroin) and a Schedule 1 drug, along with use, possession, and concealment of assets and money obtained through illegal means.
Aishath Hasna Nahid will be facing charges related to engaging in cannabis transactions while Ahmed Husam faces two charges, abetting in trafficking and the use of cannabis.
Further, Ahmed Shammoon was pressed with one charge related to the use, possession, and concealment of assets and money obtained through illegal means.
