Road Development Corporation (RDC) has signed with Male’ City council to commence phase two of streetscaping projects in 3 regions of Male’ city.
‘Streetscaping Project’ was initiated February last year to develop and construct the roads in Male’ city to a modern standard. This is the second phase of the project.
The agreement was signed today at a special ceremony. Mayor Shifa signed on behalf of Male’ city council and Managing Director Moosa Ali Manik signed on behalf of RDC.
As part of the project, roads of North Henveiru will be developed along with roads of South and Middle Machangolhi region.
Male’ city council stated a total of 13 roads of 1.97km will be reconstructed in the South Henveiru region. This includes Violet Hingun, Violet Magu, Gulisthan Goalhi, Hirundhu Magu, Dhuburi Magu, Roashanee Magu, Kurangi Goalhi, Kasthoori Magu, Season Magu, Sandhubarakaa Goalhi, Dheefuram Goalhi, Galadhun Goalhi, and Filigas Magu.
Moreover, 11 roads of 1.48 km will be reconstructed in the Machangolhi region. This includes Nikagas Magu, Kurikeela Magu, Chaandhanee Magu, Kudhiraiymaa Goalhi, Dilbahaaru Goalhi, Javaahiru Goalhi, Badifasgandu Magu, Aamina Rani Hingun, Buruzu Magu, Kurikeela Magu, and Chaandhanee Magu.
Currently, the construction is underway for Maafannu region with 0.66km completed so far.
Mayor Shifa assured her confidence in RDC to finish the project on schedule with cooperation from relevant parties.
As per the agreement, Machangolhi region will be completed within 125 days valued at MVR 33.80 million and South Henveiru will be completed within 217 days valued at MVR 33.30 million, respectively.
The whole project is valued at MVR 462 million and total 18.08km roads will be developed to a modern standard with a storm water drainage system, dewatering solution, fire hydrants, and security camera systems.
