Road Development Corporation (RDC) has been hired by the Ministry of National Planning, Housing, and Infrastructure to build the key roads in Kolamaafushi, Gaafu Alifu Atoll.
The contract for the road rehabilitation project in Kolamaafushi was signed on January 6. The project will pave 408 kilometers of roads in Kolamaafushi with asphalt, as well as install a stormwater drainage system and street lighting.
RDC was awarded the project on a design-and-build basis for more than MVR 84 million. The project has a time frame of 450 days.
Kolamaafushi has a population of 1,668 people, and the government is currently working on ten development projects on the island.
