The redevelopment of Ameenee Magu, one of the busiest roads of Male’ City, is set to begin on August 30.
Road Development Corporation (RDC)’s Managing Director Moosa Ali Manik (Mookey) has confirmed to local news outlets that the project is set to commence later this month once the final preparations are completed.
According to Mookey, the company is working on acquiring the machinery, equipment and workers needed for the work. Moreover, the survey work is nearly complete. Mookey also said that the company will not remove any trees and the road will be developed to modern standards as part of its Male’ streetscaping project.
The project involves paving the whole 1.7km length of Ameenee Magu with asphalt, and developing a new stormwater drainage system. The project was contracted to RDC at a price of MVR 85 million. The duration of the project is 7 months.
