Resort Life Maldives, an in-bound tour operator, has announced plans to charter flights between Addu City and Eastern Europe.
According to Resort Life Maldives, the chartered flights will make it easier to transfer tourists from Russia and other eastern European nations to resorts and other tourist facilities in the Maldives’ southernmost atolls.
In an interview with a local media outlet, Mohamed Shaaz Waleed, Managing Director of Resort Life Maldives, stated that the company is attempting to obtain the appropriate licenses from the Civil Aviation Authority in order to commence charter flights to Gan International Airport in September or October.
He also stated that the purpose of the initiative is to enhance tourism in the southern atolls. He claimed that they seek to develop Addu and Huvadhoo Atolls as a viable tourism destination since the region has many attractions for visitors.
