Russia is once again the top source market for Maldives so far in 2022.
According to the statistics published by the Tourism Ministry, around 20,200 tourist arrivals were recorded from Russia so far in 2022. Second top source market is the UK with 10,600 arrivals.
India was the top source market in 2021 with more than 290,000 arrivals recorded from the country alone.
Maldives has recorded 109,000 arrivals so far in 2022, compared to 76,000 arrivals in the same period of last year.
Maldives is currently the World’s Leading Destination for the second year in a row. The country’s also celebrating its golden jubilee anniversary of tourism. Maldives aims to win the World Leading Destination Award during the golden jubilee year as well and hopes to reach newer heights in the tourism success story with the inception of Homestay tourism.
