The Ministry of Education has announced that schools in the Greater Male’ Area will continue to conduct online classes for students until the end of the academic year.
According to a statement issued by the Education Ministry today, the decision was made after analyzing the current COVID-19 situation as well as the recommendations of the Health Protection Agency (HPA).
The current academic year will end on June 24, with the next beginning in early August.
The Greater Male’ Area is currently under curfew from 4 p.m. to 8 a.m., and people must obtain permits to go outside during non-curfew hours. Government offices have also been closed as a result of the recent spike in COVID-19 cases.
