Health Emergency Operations Center (HEOC) has said the second dose of Covishield vaccine will be administered starting this Saturday.
Maldives received 100,000 doses of Covishield yesterday which is out of 300,000 doses procured from Serum Institute of India. This is in addition to the 200,000 doses gifted by India. Moreover, the government is currently expecting another 700,000 doses under agreement with AstraZeneca.
Since starting vaccinations against COVID-19 on February 1st, around 47% of the eligible population have received a vaccine shot.
Those who received the first dose of Covishield eight weeks ago will now be eligible for their second dose.
