A fisherman who fell into the ocean while out fishing near Lh. Maafilaafushi has been attacked by a shark.
Media officials from Maldivian National Defence Force (MNDF) confirmed that the Northern Area of Coast Guard was alerted of a shark attack in the Lhaviyani Atoll and a team from Lhaviyani Atoll Hospital is currently traveling with the Coast Guard team to attend to the victim. Moreover, the victim is not in critical condition as per the boat’s captain.
No further details have been revealed about the situation.
