SIMDI Group has revealed that it will be launching the world’s first luxury airline for leisure travel with UAE-based investment company, ARABESQUE.
SIMDI Group and ARABESQUE decided to embark on the initiative as part of the celebrations to mark the 50th year of tourism in the Maldives this year. SIMDI stated that the airline will open a new world of luxury, opportunity, and class to the hospitality and travel industry in the country and the world.
Chief Executive officer (CEO) of the ARABESQUE Tero Taskila said they are proud to launch the world’s first luxury leisure airline in the Maldives. He said they are working closely with the authorities to launch the airline to many new destinations soon. He also conveyed gratitude to the Government of the Maldives and the relevant authorities for the support the management of the airline has received.
Managing Director of SIMDI Group Mishal Ibrahim Mohamed Didi said the company is looking to grow to up to 60 nonstop destinations around the world, with the first all-premium class airline from the Maldives.
