Singapore will expand vaccinated travel lanes (VTLs) to six additional nations, including the Maldives, beginning next month, the Maldives transport ministry announced.
The transport ministry stated on Tuesday that the arrangement was reached after negotiations between the Maldives’ foreign and health ministries and Singapore’s health ministry.
As a result, fully vaccinated passengers will be permitted to travel from the Maldives to Singapore on the VTL beginning Thursday, December 16, according to the transport ministry.
The transport ministry noted that any Maldivians possessing a digital vaccination certificate issued by the Health Protection Agency can embark on authorized VTL flights with documentation of a negative PCR test.
An application for VTL service can be made online to Singapore’s Immigration and Checkpoints Authority.
