Parliament Speaker and former President Mohamed Nasheed has applauded the bravery shown by President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
“Impossible not to be impressed by the bravery of Ukrainian President Zelenskyy, standing strong in the face of aggression.” tweeted Nasheed.
This is the first time a Maldivian politician has publicly commented on the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
In his self-shot video, President Zelensky could be seen walking around Kyiv’s government district in an apparent effort to dispel rumours he had called on the army to surrender to Russian troops.
“I’m here. We won’t lay down our arms. We will defend our state,” he said.
Russian assaults on the Ukrainian capital Kyiv have been met with fierce resistance, as the Ukrainian military along with its President show impressive bravery to fight off the Russian invasion.
