State Minister for the Environment Ministry and Jumhoory Party’s Chief Spokesperson, Ali Solih has been slashed with a box cutter on Monday afternoon
Ali Solih gave a harrowing account of how he was attacked. According to Ali Solih, the attacker read some Quranic verses while both were driving motorcycles next to each other before the attacker tried to slash his throat with a box cutter. The attack happened while Ali Solih was driving in Hulhumale’ and managed to escape any lethal injuries.
Maldives Police Service confirmed that the incident was reported to authorities at approximately 13:26pm this afternoon and have arrested a suspect in connection to the case.
Ali Solih is currently being treated at Hulhumale’ Hospital.
