Maldives has extended the state of public health emergency declared in the nation due to COVID-19 again.
The Maldives first declared a state of public health emergency on March 7, 2020 after confirming its first case of COVID-19.
Health Minister Ahmed Naseem today signed the order to extend the state of public health emergency to April 4th.
Maldives is currently facing a rapid rise in COVID cases in Greater Male’ area. Maldives has confirmed over 20,000 COVID cases so far with 63 deaths.
