State Electric Company Limited (STELCO) has been hit with a ransomware attack which has temporarily disrupted ts services.
A ransomware attack was launched against STELCO last Thursday which has disrupted its services including the company’s website, mobile application, and outlets, and further services.
According to STELCO, it will take a while to resume its services at full scale after the attack. Moreover, they are trying to solve the issue as soon as possible.
Ransomware is a type of malicious software (malware) that threatens to publish or blocks access to data or a computer system, usually by encrypting it, until the victim pays a ransom fee to the attacker.
STELCO has assured that no private information of its customers was leaked during the attack.
