State Trading Organization (STO) in collaboration with Maldives National University (MNU) has introduced a Diploma in Radiology course.
With 20 slots available for the first batch, STO hopes to start the application process as soon as next month.
Moreover, STO and General Electronic Health Care has developed the necessary laboratory and training center required for the course at STO training institute.
Speaking at a ceremony held to announce the new course, Health Minister Ahmed Naseem said radiology is an area where very few locals are trained in and a course like this would help to increase the number of locals working in the radiology field.
STO’s Managing Director Husen Amr said developing youths in the field of radiology is crucial and the course fee for the first batch of students will be paid by STO itself.
MNU’s Vice Chancellor Dr. Mohamed Shareef also stressed the importance of building locals in the field of radiology and the university will do its best to conduct the course in the best possible standard.
