The State Trading Organization (STO) has increased petrol and diesel prices again.
STO stated the recent hike in prices is due to the cost incurred while importing fuel and the rise in fuel prices in the global market which is the highest in the last seven years.
The price of petrol has been increased by MVR 0.9 to MVR 12.06 per liter and the price of diesel has been increased by MVR 0.6 to MVR 12.44 per liter.
In the global market, a crude oil barrel now costs USD 88 compared to USD 77 earlier this year.
