Island Beverages Maldives (IBM) has launched new products with environmentally friendly packaging under its Taza subsidiary.
The new products were launched at a special ceremony held at Hotel Jen on Tuesday night to commemorate IBM’s 20th anniversary by Minister of Tourism Dr. Abdulla Mausoom, IBM’s Chairman Hassan Shah, and Managing Director Ibrahim Anwar.
IBM showcased the new Taza water bottles which will now come in glass packaging for 500ml and 1 liter and 19-liter dispenser bottles called ‘Taza 5G’ which is appropriate for multiple-use. IBM previously sold single-use plastic bottles under its Taza subsidiary.
IBM also announced its beach cleanup program as part of the ‘Taza Veshi’ campaign launched to celebrate its 20th anniversary. The program will help to raise awareness regarding activities we could do to protect our environment.
Speaking at the ceremony, Tourism Minister Dr. Mausoom praised IBM’s efforts to raise awareness regarding environmentally friendly alternatives and to limit single-use plastic. He also said that this is a good example for other companies to lead such an initiative to protect the vulnerable environment of the Maldives.
IBM’s Managing Director Ibrahim Anwar noted that the new products will be released to the market on August 15th and will be delivered on orders. He also said that the main aim of the company is to introduce cheaper, high-quality, safe, and environmentally friendly products to the market.
Taza products comply with international standards and are filtered three times with multiple lab tests to ensure it is safe enough to drink before being released to the market.
