The essential surveys for the construction of the bridge connecting Male, Villimale, Thilafushi, and Gulhifalhu began on Thursday.
The surveying for the Thilamale Bridge, the current government’s largest infrastructure project, is expected to be completed by February 2022.
According to the transport ministry, the planning ministry has notified them that a one-kilometre radius around Male, Villimale, and Thilafushi would be assessed as part of the survey.
Foresight Surveyors Private Limted, a subcontractor of Afcons Infrastructure, is performing the survey work.
Furthermore, the transport ministry advised captains, owners, and operators of ships travelling near the survey territory to avoid interfering with the operation of the survey ship and its divers.
