A pivotal agreement has been sealed between the Ministry of Tourism and Urbanco to usher in the development of a dedicated tourist beach in Hulhumale’ Phase I. The agreement, inked by Fathimath Nilfa, Permanent Secretary of the Tourism Ministry, and Ahmed Athif, Managing Director of Urbanco, lays the groundwork for the creation of a beach enclave tailored to cater to tourists accommodated in guesthouses.
Amidst a ceremonial backdrop, Minister of Tourism Dr. Abdulla Mausoom underscored the profound significance of the impending tourist beach in Hulhumale’. He highlighted the indispensability of this venture, underlining that the unified efforts of the tourism ministry, Urbanco, and various stakeholders from the industry will converge to meticulously design and blueprint this much-awaited recreational haven.
Meanwhile, Ahmed Athif emphasized the current popularity of Hulhumale’s beach, drawing a multitude of visitors from the Greater Male’ Region. Acknowledging the concerns raised by guesthouse and liveaboard operators, Athif shed light on the pressing need for a dedicated beach area tailored for the enjoyment of tourists.
Urbanco, in response to these pressing requisites, has charted an ambitious vision for the tourist beach. This upcoming development is being meticulously fashioned with an inclusive ethos, extending accessibility to individuals with disabilities. Encompassing a comprehensive array of amenities, the beach area will boast benches, a strategically positioned lifeguard hut, restrooms, and demarcated seating zones.
The blueprint for the area embraces a holistic approach, encompassing kiosks, changing rooms, lockers, and communal bathing facilities to ensure that the needs of every visitor are met with utmost care and convenience.
