Tourism Minister Dr. Abdulla Mausoom today launched the “I am vaccinated” campaign, which aims to fully vaccinate all tourism industry workers.
The campaign was initiated by the Tourism Ministry and the Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC).
During the ceremony, MMPRC Managing Director Thoyyib Mohamed said that the campaign aims to make Maldives the first country to completely vaccinate the tourism industry by inoculating everyone in the industry and encouraging everyone to get vaccinated.
Thoyyib went on to say that the Maldives had recently faced difficulties as the country prepared to celebrate the tourism industry’s golden jubilee. He added that the MMPRC had worked hard to keep the Maldives on the world’s travel radar even during this period.

Tourism workers who have completed both shots of the vaccine will be given a special badge, and the MMPRC will also declare tourism establishments that have been completely vaccinated against the virus.
About 99 percent of all tourism employees have received the first dose of the vaccine, with an additional 8,000 receiving the second dose.
