Ministry of Tourism has urged for increased security at tourist establishments due to the upcoming high season for tourism in the Maldives.
In a circular, the tourism ministry instructed tourist establishments to take special measures to increase their security and ensure the safety of visitors. The measures include formulating and implementing an emergency response plan, and providing a general briefing on security during check-ins and prior to activities in the water. It also instructed water sports centres to conduct regular training and awareness programmes for employees.
The ministry stated it aims to maintain security and safety for visitors and employees in the tourism sector.
