The Transport Ministry has requested the public to report taxis refusing service within Malé City.
The Transport Ministry stated that several complaints were lodged against taxis operating in the Greater Male’ refusing to take inter-city trips, rather prioritizing high fare trips to Velana International Airport (VIA) and Hulhumale’ City instead.
Moreover, legal action will be taken against taxis and taxi service centers failing to provide service as per the Land Transportation Act and Regulation on Taxi Services, warned The Transport Ministry.
