Tree Top Hospital has submitted a request to the Ministry of Health to receive permission to begin in vitro fertilisation (IVF) treatment.
Tree Top Hospital conducted a survey which showed that such treatments are highly in demand in the Maldives. The hospital stated that it will begin IVF treatment after receiving permission from the health ministry.
IVF is a series of procedures used to help with fertility or prevent genetic problems and assist with the conception of a child. Currently, only intra uterine insemination (IUI) treatment is available in the Maldives, which is a type of artificial insemination procedure for treating infertility.
