Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) today relocated the turtle nest found near the Sinamalé bridge and to a turtle sanctuary and rehabilitation centre in Four Seasons Kuda Huraa Resort.
A lone sea turtle was found ashore at the beach near the Sinamalé bridge for a second time this Tuesday to lay eggs.
Maldives Police Service protected the area following much public criticism after a similar incident occurred on 27 February.
The turtle laid 96 eggs which were relocated to the Four Seasons Resort’s sanctuary. The eggs relocated today are expected to hatch within two months.
