Two suspects out of three arrested in connection to the torching of a Maldives Police Service officer’s motorcycle in N.Miladhoo were released from custody on Friday.
Police arrested three suspects in connection to the case which included a 22-year-old, 27-year-old, and 31-year-old local male, who were all taken to Miladhoo Court to decide on their remand on Friday. However, the court ordered to remand the 22-year-old for five days and release the other two.
According to the Maldives Police Service, the attack was a revenge attack after the Police Officer tried to stop a drug dealer. Moreover, he was threatened and later his motorcycle was torched beyond repair.
Commissioner of Police, Mohamed Hameed said that they will not back down in their fight against drug trafficking and will do whatever necessary to disrupt drug operations in the Maldives.
