Both Chelsea and PSG through to semi final despite defeats.
PSG 0 – 1 Bayern Munich (Aggregate Score: 3 – 3)
The first leg saw PSG win 2 – 3 in a thriller with 3 vital away goals.
In the second leg, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting’s goal (40), which came against the run of play put Bayern just one goal away from qualification. However, PSG were resolute in defence to see out the result to advance to their first UEFA Champions League semi final since 1995.
PSG will face either Manchester City or Borussia Dortmund in the semi final.
Chelsea 0 – 1 FC Porto (Aggregate Score: 2 – 1)
Chelsea won the previous leg comfortably by 0 – 2.
Porto were intense in the first half, but lacking in quality in the final third as neither side registered a shot on target until the 66th minute.
Mehdi Taremi of Porto produced an incredible, acrobatic overhead kick in the last minute of stoppage time but it was too little too late as Chelsea held on to advance to the semi final.
Chelsea will now play either Liverpool or Real Madrid in the semi final.
